Watch: Kristen Stewart Reunites With Jodie Foster for Star Honor

Kristen Stewart wasn't about to miss out on her movie mom Jodie Foster's big day!

The 26-year-old actress presented her Panic Room co-star with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday. Stewart was just 11 when Foster played her mother in the 2002 thriller, but she's remained close to the Oscar winner, 53, ever since.

Foster joked to E! News she was worried her onscreen daughter would say no to taking part in her ceremony, which is a very big deal to the multi-hyphenate. She began her career as an actress at the tender age of three, but it was important to her not to get a star in her name until it was recognizing her as a director.  And Foster, who most recently directed Julia Roberts and George Clooney in the upcoming dramatic thriller Money Monster, has clearly achieved great success on both sides of the camera.

Stewart might like to follow in Foster's career footsteps someday. Back in 2014, she made her directorial debut with her friend Sage Galesi's country-rock band Sage + the Saints' "Take Me to the South" music video.

"I've been saying I want to direct movies since I was 10 years old," she told Rolling Stone. "And then I started making movies and working with such incredible people that I realized what I was up against. So it was like, no way, now I'm gonna get more attention than I ever should just because of who I am."

At the end of her Rolling Stone interview, Stewart quipped that it was "so much nicer doing interviews as not what I usually am," meaning an actress.

As Foster told E! News before, she was "surprised" her Panic Room co-star became an actress, "because she really doesn't have the stereotypical personality."

"She's a great person, and I'm not surprised she's gone on to to do great things," Foster said. "But I am surprised she is an actress."

As Foster proves, though, it's possible to wear more than one hat in Hollywood!
