Attention, lovers of early '00s cinematic classic Center Stage: This is not a drill! Lifetime has made another sequel to the seminal dance movie and E! News has your first look at the new production, Center Stage: On Pointe.
Before you start to worry, take a breath: Yes, Peter Gallagher is back as American Ballet Academy boss Jonathan Reeves, Sascha Radetsky is back as dancer (and now choreographer) Charlie, and Ethan Stiefel is back as cocky dancer-turned-choreographer Cooper Nielson (you know—great choreographer, sucky boyfriend).
Kenny Wormald and Nicole Munoz are also returning as their Center Stage: Turn It Up characters Tommy Anderson and Bella Parker, who were introduced in the 2008 made-for-TV outing.
Lifetime is debuting the first promo for the new original movie during tonight's episode of Dance Moms, which is appropriate considering it stars original Dance Moms cast member Chloe Lukasiak as a talented dancer competing for a slot at the American Ballet Academy.
Here's the synopsis of the new film: Jonathan Reeves (Gallagher) is tasked with infusing more contemporary styles and modernism into the American Ballet Academy and enlists his top choreographers Charlie (Radestsky), Cooper (Stiefel) and Tommy (Wormald) to recruit dancers to compete at an intensive camp where the winners will be selected to join the Academy. Bella Parker (Munoz), who has always lived in the shadow of her hugely successful sister Kate, finally gets her chance to step into the limelight as one of the dancers selected for the camp. Lukasiak stars as Gwen, a talented dancer prodigy who competes at the camp.
