Alicia Vikander's Met Gala hair was anything but boring.

Celebrity hairstylist Chris Naselli went to work last night when he gave your average ponytail some sultry edge.

"The process is the most exciting part of creating a look and Alicia is involved from start to finish," said the pro. "It usually begins with a sneak peek text message of the dress. Then we get excited and start to formulate a look—the dress is always our inspiration. We try to enhance and push the vision of the designer. Here's how:

Step 1: Apply TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Touchable Bounce Mousse to damp hair from your roots to your ends and then blow dry with fingers for maximum volume and texture.

Step 2: Once dry, create a center part and begin braiding a section on either side of the part back and away from face.

Step 3: Use fingers to rake hair back into a ponytail at the crown and secure with an elastic.

Step 4: Take a small section from under the ponytail and lightly tease and spray with TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hairspray before wrapping around the base of the ponytail, secure with a bobby pin.

Step 5: Apply another dollop of the mousse and scrunch into the dry ponytail to create additional texture.
