Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just took it old school.

The Hollywood couple may not have posed for photos together on the Met Gala red carpet tonight, but best believe there was one special accessory connecting these two together—and it comes with a hefty dose of nostalgia.

If you look closely at each star's outfit (you really gotta focus on Perry's because wow, there's a lot going on), you'll notice that they're each rocking a Tamagotchi. A TAMAGOTCHI, YOU GUYS.

We hate to even assume this, but if you're unaware about what a Tamagotchi is, it's an electronic pet that was created in Japan and became all the rage in the '90s. You literally had to make sure it was fed and properly taken care of throughout the day.

And now, in 2016, the Tamagotchi has made its way to the Met Gala red carpet via Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. What a time to be alive.

Aside from their cute, matching accessory, both Bloom and Perry each made a statement in their respective outfits.

The actor added some color to the carpet by looking dapper in a black and burgundy suit. Meanwhile, Perry was nearly unrecognizable in her ensemble and makeup.

The "This Is How We Do" singer stepped out at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday evening looking absolutely divine in a bold Prada gown, which fit perfectly into this year's "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" theme (and also gave DJ Khaled a run for his money with all those keys she was flaunting).

Perry channeled her inner tech goddess, opting for a sky-high, coifed updo made picture-perfect with bangs and a dramatic lip. And the cherry on top? The singer opted to ditch her eyebrows for an extra high-fashion touch.

Prior to the event, Katy hinted that she may be donning something special underneath her dress for some extra, um, assistance.

"I'm wearing a really large thing tomorrow, which will be very difficult to use the restroom in. I might just wear a diaper. I don't really care. I am just going to be looking around for people to help me to the restroom," she told reporters Sunday at a CoverGirl event, held at The Waterfall Mansion in NYC.

"I'll feel like one of those brides or something, but there's a lot going on with the dress."
