Don't mess with a Frozen fan!
In highly unfortunate news, Disney got a failing grade on GLAAD's recent LGBT report card. Every year, the organization does a study of LGBT representation in films and gives studios ratings on how well they did or did not do. The Hollywood Reporter says there wasn't a single studio who obtained a "Good" rating for last year's releases. On the slightly brighter side (although we still have a long way to go), Lionsgate used LGBT characters in 33 percent of their films, while other companies like Sony and Universal both represented the LGBT community in 19 percent of their films.
When we say Disney failed, we mean they really, really failed. The studio did not use any LGBT characters in their films at all. Really, guys? As a result of this bummer news, the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend was started by @lexi4prez and has blown up all over Twitter. Fans are, as the hashtag states, campaigning to give Frozen's Elsa a girlfriend so that Disney can finally get with the program. Fans of the hashtag are offering all sorts of wonderful reasons why they feel this move would benefit everyone. Check them out below and let us know what your thoughts are when it comes to giving Elsa a girlfriend! Love is an open door, right?

#GiveElsaAGirlfriend because little girls watching should know you can be a princess and love another princess

#GiveElsaAGirlfriend because it would be a huge step towards queer kids feeling loved and accepted from a young age

Because I want this:
Kid: so you have two mommies?
my kid: yes
Kid: so like Elsa & ___
my kid: yes
Kid: that's cool!
#giveelsaagirlfriend is cool bc it'll give lgbtq girls better representation than just lesbian porn. Its time to stop sexualizing gay women

Love is an open door. That door should be open to everyone, not just straight people. #GiveElsaAGirlfriend @Disney @DisneyPixar

FWIW, my daughter says Elsa's girlfriend should be Princess Leia. #GiveElsaAGirlfriend pic.twitter.com/qTNMmtZEKo

Given that Frozen was one giant metaphor for the closet, to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend is just logical. More LGBT representation is a great idea.
