Everyone loves a surprise!

Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan walked out onto the set of Live! With Kelly and Michael hand-in-hand, but this time their free hands were full—of Daytime Emmy Awards!

The co-hosts both took home Emmys for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host, which they proudly displayed on Monday morning's episode. While discussing their exciting win, both admitted they had no idea they had won. "I didn't even realize that we won an Emmy until I started getting text messages from my friends," Kelly confessed.

"You and I are in the same boat!" Strahan added, noting he was out celebrating a friend's birthday when he found out.

Because the event was held in Los Angeles, neither Kelly nor Michael could attend.

"I find when we tend to not go we tend to win," Kelly joked of their absence from the awards show.

Their big win comes on the heels of the drama surrounding their morning talk show—Michael's shocking departure. Although he was scheduled to stay through the summer, Michael has decided to make his last day Friday, May 13. He'll still make appearances on Good Morning America throughout the summer months but will start his full-time role in September.

The timing of their win is certainly interesting given everything that has happened over the past few weeks. While we can't say for sure how their colleagues in the morning news game reacted, we did imagine what some of the many news people might have thought. Whether it was awkward, cringe-worthy or totally exciting, Kelly and Michael displayed nothing but happiness while on the air; they even proposed a toast to each other and the audience using their golden statues as makeshift glasses.

Their (seemingly) normal interactions come after a week of awkward moments, where Kelly called out Michael for his divorces, made a quip about contract negotiations and when she finally returned to the show to deliver an emotional monologue, the camera never once panned to Michael, even when she mentioned him.

Although they appear to be a united front once again, a source told E! News their relationship was strained long before Michael announced his departure. "Things have been tense with them behind the scenes for a long time," a source told E! News exclusively.

"It's just more clear to the audience now."
