Watch: "The Good Wife" Cast Reflects on the Show's Legacy

The Good Wife will go down in history as "one of the finest shows to ever grace our television screens," according to Jeffrey Dean Morgan (and E! News' TV Scoop team),  but that's not the only legacy it's leaving behind.

"I'm so amazed at the people who write to me and tell me—young girls mostly—who tell me that they went to law school because of Alicia and that they're now practicing environmental law, criminal law, blue collar law, they're out there doing it," Julianna Margulies told us about The Good Wife's legacy during a recent set visit. "They talk about how in high school they watched the show—who knew?—and it inspired them to be lawyers. So that I think is a tremendous impact. I can't believe that kind of impact on someone's life, that you would watch something and then decide, ‘That's what I'm going to do with my life.' That's quite noble. I love that aspect of it."

The Good Wife also took on many of the today's issues, often before they became a national topic. "So many of the court cases addressed issues we're really dealing with—fetal tissue, drones, guns, the Internet, the NSA—the show really touched on a lot of issues that were right in the news. The gay wedding cake episode, which curiously now just happened again in Georgia," Christine Baranski said, citing the show didn't do it with melodrama.
