From the moment Janice Dickinson was diagnosed with breast cancer, she was determined to tackle it head on.

In a clip from The Doctors airing Thursday, the 61-year-old supermodel is seen mentally preparing herself on her way into surgery. "I'm finding it very hard to sit in my skin," she says. "This is very serious, and it's a very serious time in all our lives."

Fortunately, Dickinson is in the hands of a top-notch medical team. "I love my doctors," she says. "They're saving my life. They're saving my life!"

The former America's Next Top Model judge is also getting support from her fiancé, Dr. Robert "Rocky" Gerber, and believes in a higher power. As she says on The Doctors, "I have faith in God."

Dickinson hopes that by going public with her experience, others will prioritize their health and regularly perform self-breast exams, too. "I just beg women and men out there to just please have the manual feel yourselves up," she says. "Have your friends feel you up!"
