The couple was spotted riding a golf cart together in Miami Tuesday ahead of Bey's first show for The Formation World Tour Wednesday night.
Following the release of the songstress' latest visual album, Lemonade, the couple has been the topic of great Hollywood debate spurred by cryptic lyrics in many of Beyoncé's new tracks.
Lines like "Call Becky with the good hair" and "I regret the night I put that ring on" have pushed fans to believe the album is a confirmation that Jay Z cheated on his wife in the past and that their marriage is not as solid as their glossy public appearances would have everyone believe.
Regardless of the ongoing controversy, they sat together on a golf cart in the midst of a very long rehearsal day.
A source tells E! News Beyoncé arrived at Marlins Park at 11 a.m., rehearsed for over 14 hours and left past 2 a.m. the following morning.
"Beyoncé has been rehearsing really hard with very little sleep. She wants this tour to be even better than her last," a source told E! News.
However, Jay Z was not there quite as long. After he was spotted smoking a cigar at his Florida hotel, Jay Z arrived at the space separately with a female assistant at 4 p.m. and headed out at midnight alone, the source added.
The rapper appeared to be in good spirits while he was with his wife, smiling at her while she sat with a far more serious look on her face.
"Things seem to be going well with the two of them. When only a few people were around, Jay showed some affection [toward] Beyoncé. He put his hand around her and gave her a big hug," the source added. "He is giving her space though to rehearse and coming and going, but still showing her that he is by her side. He will be with her for many of her concerts."
Though daughter Blue Ivy was not seen, Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles joined her oldest daughter for the ride, sitting in another golf cart ahead of her child and son-in-law.
As for wardrobe, the songstress appeared to be wearing parts of her concert attire, including a wide-brimmed black hat and sparkly tights.
Racks of colorful costumes were also spotted, offering helpful clues to the wild looks we can expect to see from Bey and her dancers throughout the shows.
That red fur ensemble definitely looks like the makings of a show-stopping look.
The tour's opening act, DJ Khaled, also wasn't far away. The rapper was spotted walking among a crew of people as he prepares to grace audiences packed with thousands in the months ahead.
As for the show's leading star, a friend tells E! News Beyoncé's marriage is a hopeful work-in-progress as her career carries on full steam ahead.
"They are going to be OK. This is round two," a friend told E! News. "They are determined to make it work and we all believe they can do it."
