It is a tragic day for Kid Rock

The 45-year-old Grammy nominee announced on his website Tuesday that his personal assistant, Mike Sacha, has died. According to a press release from police, the 30-year-old was killed in an apparent ATV accident on Rock's Nashville property Monday night.

After the musician held a cookout at his house, Sacha was reportedly transporting guests to the house's driveway for an Uber car. Authorities said in a press release they believe he lost control and crashed on the ride back to the house around midnight. After he couldn't find him Tuesday morning, Rock and a friend searched for Sacha on the property. They discovered him on the driveway embankment and the singer called for help.

"I am beyond devastated to report that my personal assistant Mike Sacha passed away today in an ATV accident here in Nashville. He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with," Rock wrote in a statement.

"I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I can not imagine how they must feel. Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss."

The star also wanted to use the announcement to quell rumors that he was the one who was in an accident. Instead of traveling to Michigan as planned, Rock will remain in Tennessee until he can bring his colleague "home to his family."

"I'm asking everyone to please respect our and his families' privacy in this difficult time," he concluded his statement. "RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend."
