ABCDaytime TV viewers have never been more eager to see two faces together again.
After being absent from LIVE! With Kelly and Michael for close to a week, Kelly Ripa is returning to the ABC talk-show Tuesday where she will sit alongside her co-host Michael Strahan.
Before the chatting begins again, some may be curious to know the dynamic of these two ever since the shake-ups were announced. According to a source close to the show, the pair has not spoken to each other since last week but they have been communicating over text.
"It's been simple," our source shared. "Very cordial."
As of now, both Kelly and Michael have no plans to see each other before Tuesday's show tapes live in New York City. Instead, our insider said, "They are just going in and doing it tomorrow."
A separate source added, "Anything that will come out of Michael's mouth in public will be happy and up beat about Kelly."
During Monday's taping of LIVE!, Michael expressed his excitement at seeing his co-host return to their morning show. As for why Shay Mitchell was guest hosting today, the athlete assured fans that Kelly had a "scheduled day off to celebrate her 20th anniversary" with husband Mark Consuelos.
"She's going to be back tomorrow, which we are all excited about," Michael added.
On April 19, news broke that Michael is joining Good Morning America full-time after four years with LIVE! The news came as a surprise to Kelly, which was not Michael's idea. "Michael didn't have much of a say or influence on how the news was broken to Kelly," an insider shared. "He actually didn't want to have anything to do with that part."
Michael is still scheduled to be on the show through the summer before the team kicks off the search for a new co-host this fall.
