Just days after news broke that Michael Strahan would be leaving LIVE! With Kelly and Michael for a new position within ABC, his co-host is ready for a little vacation away from New York City.
E! News can confirm that the talk-show host is escaping to Turks and Caicos Thursday morning for a getaway that is expected to last through the weekend. Husband Mark Consuelos as well as their three children will also be joining in on the tropical fun.
The getaway has been planned since February and the timing couldn't be more perfect.
Ever since news broke that Michael would be taking on a more prominent spot on Good Morning America this September, LIVE! has become front-page news.
Earlier today, a source revealed to E! News that Kelly did not receive a heads up about her co-host leaving the show after four years. When executives eventually broke the news after a morning taping, the blond beauty wasn't exactly prepared.
"She was livid," a source shared with E! News. "It wasn't pretty."
After being informed of the news, Kelly has yet to return to the LIVE! set for a taping. A spokesperson for the show told us that Kelly's seat will be filled for the next few days until the beginning of Tuesday at the earliest.
In regards to Kelly's upcoming getaway, perhaps the trip could also serve as an anniversary celebration with her husband. While they don't officially celebrate 20 years of marriage until May 1, there's certainly plenty of love between the two.
