It isn't always fun and games behind the scenes

Cheryl Burke isn't alone.

The Dancing With the Stars pro revealed in a podcast that she hated working with Ian Ziering, but she isn't the only person to reflect on a bad work experience. Some celebrities have been fairly candid about life on set and how it wasn't always the friendliest of places. Although it was never confirmed, there were rumors that Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi had to film scenes separately because their feud ran so deep.

DWTS pro Tony Dovolani slammed his experience working with Kate Gosselin, telling Anderson Cooper that he needed "a lot of therapy" afterwards. Maksim Chmerkovskiy went on a rant on the same podcast as Burke (different time) about former partner Hope Solo, calling her a "sh--ty person."

"You can have a sh--ty life growing up, but if you're a bad person, there's no excuse for that," he said last fall.

Showrunner Rob Wade previously dished to E! News about the partnering process. "We don't pair people who aren't going to get on. It's too intense. It's not like The Bachelor or something, we couldn't do that. That would just be miserable experience for the celebrity, for us and the viewer," he explained. "You don't want to see two people who don't like each other and, quite frankly, we have made that mistake pairing people up who didn't get on so well."

DWTS isn't the only production that has faced contentious co-stars. Movies, other TV shows and more have been plagued by the problem. Fortunately, everyone seems to remain professional and get the job done. Alex Pettyfer opened up about working with Channing Tatum on Magic Mike and revealed they were anything but friends after they got off on the wrong foot. According to Pettyfer, Tatum "told everyone he didn't like me...what Channing says goes. He's a movie star. He's incredible."

Fans might be shocked to hear that Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams didn't get along while working on The Notebook, but they do say there's a thin line between love and hate! "Maybe I'm not supposed to tell this story, but they were really not getting along one day on set. Really not," director Nick Cassavetes told Vh1. "And Ryan came to me, and there's 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, 'Nick come here.' And he's doing a scene with Rachel and he says, 'Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?' I said, 'What?' He says, 'I can't. I can't do it with her. I'm just not getting anything from this."

Obviously they were able to work out their issues, as they dated on-and-off for four years.

The cast of 90210 also faced its ups and downs, as Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth would eventually get physical. "We were locked in this sound stage for 14-16 hours every day," Garth told E! News of working with Doherty and Tori Spelling. "There were times when we loved each other and there were times when we wanted to claw each other's eyes out."

Charmed co-stars Alyssa Milano, Doherty and Holly Marie Combs also had a roller coaster relationship. "Holly and Shannen were best friends for like 10 years before the show started, so it was very much sort of like high school," Milano explained on Watch What Happens Live. "I would hope that in our thirties it wouldn't be like that anymore."

She added, "There were definitely some rough days."

Charlize Theron recently revealed in an interview that she and Mad Max: Fury Road co-star Tom Hardy didn't get along. "From what I hear, he's not like that on every movie—I hear he's had good experiences," Theron said of her co-star, laughing. "Maybe the movie is what it is because we struggled so much with each other, and those characters had to struggle so much with each other. If we were chum-chum, maybe the movie would have been 10 times worse."

Hardy also didn't get along with co-star Shia LaBeouf on the set of Lawless. Their relationship turned so sour that LaBeouf actually punched Hardy behind-the-scenes but later claimed it was all part of their "bond."

Although Jane Fonda said she and Lindsay Lohan got along for the most part on the set of Georgia Rule, the Grace and Frankie star told CBS News she had to set Lohan straight one time when she showed up late. "I raised my voice, and she said to her makeup person, 'Barbarella, she just yelled at me!'"

She continued, "I said this to Lindsay. You've gotta have more than celebrity. You've gotta have stuff in your life that has nothing to do with the celebrity part. Otherwise, it can get pretty empty."

Even though the set of Charlie's Angels looked like it would've been a blast, it was actually a place of tension. Bill Murray and Lucy Liu didn't get along, and their feud came to a head when he claimed she couldn't act. The sequel traded Murray for funnyman Bernie Mac.
