It wouldn't be the end of The Good Wife without a solid dose of rumors. The latest? Josh Charles would be returning to series for one final appearance, a flashback with Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick.

Viewers will remember Charles left the show in season five when his character Will Gardner was killed off. He later returned to direct and his voice was heard in a season six episode, but the last time viewers saw Charles' character on screen was in season five. CBS didn't return a request for comment, but Robert and Michelle King, The Good Wife's co-creators, addressed the rumor at The Good Wife's Tribeca Film Festival panel.

"I've heard those rumors! I think we have an answer tonight about how many rumors you've been hearing," Robert told E! News on the red carpet before the panel and screening. "We're going to answer some with yes and some with no, but it'll be a little bit of a game."

"Stay tuned," Michelle said.

The Kings were referring to the answer they gave during the question and answer panel where they discussed several rumors they heard and said some were true, but didn't say which.

Filming on the show wrapped last week and Michelle said there were "torrents of tears," and Robert added the crew stayed up until 6 a.m. the next day drinking, with Margulies and Christine Baranski both relishing in the final moments. But it was Cush Jumbo, a new cast addition for season seven, who was the most emotional.

"At the drop of a hat she would cry," Robert told us. "We have a scene in one of the episodes where we're tearing apart one of the sets and she was just bawling."

As for additional adventures of anybody in The Good Wife universe, Robert said "there is a chance" of a spinoff.

"CBS seems to be very motivated—they like these characters, but they also like the world and all these subsidiary characters, so there may be a chance," he said.

"It's all very preliminary, so we'll see," Michelle said.

There are just three episodes of The Good Wife left and Margulies and Jumbo teased the finale as "sad" but "satisfying" during a panel question and answer after the screening of "Landing."

"I read it once, and I couldn't talk to anyone about it, because I was emotionally confused, because I was having so many emotions knowing I was wrapping this character up," Margulies told the crowd.

According to Variety, the Kings sent Margulies a bottle of wine with the series finale script, and a note saying Alicia should drink while reading it. "So I opened the wine," Margulies said. "And I poured a wee glass, not an Alicia-sized glass. I then I read it a fourth time, and I then could digest it. I wrote [the Kings] three lines: ‘Nothing but brilliant.'"

The Good Wife airs Sundays, 9 p.m. on CBS. The series finale airs Sunday, May 8.
