It looks like Android is taking a big cue from iPhone, and it's definitely for the best. When it comes to sending emojis from your Android to your friends iPhone (and the other way around), things can get lost in translation, to say the least. Users get stuck with almost alien-like creatures that often look nothing like their iOS counterpart. How many times have you sent a smiley emoji only to be met with total confusion as to why your pal received the "ew" face?

It happens to the best of us. Thankfully, Google announced they're rolling out an emoji makeover available on the Android N, according to WiredJust like the iPhone, the new emojis will vary in skin tone, and finally, look more human than blob. Wired notes users of both phones should still expect to view varied versions of the smiling or crying emojis for example. The good news is, at least they'll look more like a respectable emoji should and perhaps spare us a few accidental text arguments.
