The royal couple reportedly felt tremors from the earthquake that hit Myanmar Wednesday while visiting Kaziranga National Park. The earthquake hit about 84 miles north west of Mandalay was a 6.9 magnitude. Richard Palmer, a royal correspondent for the Daily Express in London, tweeted the news.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their party felt tremors from the Myanmar earthquake in Kaziranga National Park," he wrote. "Everyone is safe."
A spokeswoman for Kensington Palace later added, "As far as I know, tremors were felt across the region and everyone is OK."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will continue their seven-day tour of India and Bhutan. So far, they have met with women's rights advocates, cooked dosas (a traditional Indian treat) and visited the national war memorial in Mumbai. Earlier Wednesday the couple went on safari and fed baby rhinos and elephants. (It's as adorable as you imagine it. Just look at the photos.). They've also played sports with the locals, which had people wondering why they didn't bring Prince George along for the wild ride.
"Because George is too naughty," Kate replied when asked why their kids stayed in the U.K. "He would be running all over the place. The next time we come we will definitely bring them."
The Duchess also revealed that seeing all the young girls playing around the village left her missing Princess Charlotte. This official royal visit marks the longest time Kate has been away from her two kids. During Prince William and Kate's visit to the village, they received gifts fiberglass model elephants painted by local children, which are meant to be presents for the couple's kids.
