Kate Middleton donned a number of stunning styles as she and husband Prince William began a visit to India.

The two landed in the country Sunday and are also set to travel to the remote Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan during their royal trip. They have not brought their children, Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 11 months.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a 3/4-sleeve, red and brown patterned Alexander McQueen peplum top and matching knee-length skirt as she and William arrived in the Indian city of Mumbai. She paired the look with nude pointed pumps and a matching clutch.

The two received a red carpet welcome at the entrance to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, where they will be staying. At the hotel, they placed a large wreath of white flowers on a memorial site honoring the 31 victims of a terrorist attacks that took place there in 2008, one of four.

Kate and William chatted with staff who helped to protect guests during the attacks, Kensington Palace said.

The two later joined a local cricket game, played soccer and visited children from Magic Bus, Childline and Doorstep, three non-governmental organizations. Kate dressed more casually, sporting a a 3/4-sleeve pink, red and teal patterned Anita Dongre frock and nude espadrille wedges.

The couple also visited the Banganga Water Tank, where they were greeted by dancers in traditional outfits, who presented them with flower garlands and tilaks. Kate and William placed flower petals in the water.

In the evening, Kate and William attended a Bollywood-inspired charity gala at their hotel. Kate stunned again in a hand-beaded, long sleeve, flowing sapphire Jenny Packham gown, paired with matching earrings.

Fellow attendees included local actors such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor, politicians and charity workers.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, namaste," William said. "Before I begin, Catherine and I would like to offer our condolences to all those affected by the terrible fire at the temple in Kollam. I know that all of you in this room will join us in those sentiments."

"When Catherine and I were married, India was the first place on Catherine's list that she told me that she wanted to visit," he said. "Two children and five years later, we have finally made it—and we are both honored to be here."
