Shawn Johnson is officially off the market!
The retired Olympic gold medalist and gymnast and two-time Dancing With the Stars competitor married Andrew East Saturday evening in Tennessee. The bride wore a strapless, lace embroidered ivory wedding gown with a mermaid skirt and carried a bouquet of white flowers, as seen in exclusive photos obtained by E! News.
"I've found my guy and he's my best friend, so making it official is exciting," Shawn shared with People who first broke the news. "Everything is right about him."
The bride wore a custom gown from Nashville-based stylist Olia Zavozina, who previously told E! News Shawn's dress would be "timeless, unique, and different, but at the same time be something that she can look back at those pictures 20 years from today, and say, 'Wow, I made the right choice!'"
The wedding took place inside a barn and the decor was mainly ivory and green. Many ivory flowers and candles adorned the tables.
Fête Nashville's Sara Fried helped Shawn to plan the whole thing, and as she told E! News last spring, it was going to be one big celebration. "Shawn and Andrew are both very close with their families," she noted, adding that even as the guest number grew, it would be "important that both the ceremony and reception remain very intimate. Lots of candles, flowers and touches of gold will create a romantic setting."
Several of Shawn's girlfriends' threw her a bachelorette party April 2. As part of their weekend, they embarked on the "Spirit of Chicago" cruise, where an onlooker tells E! News the group danced a lot and took tons of photos. Shawn posted several of those pictures to Instagram, including one of her bachelorette party group on the boat's deck with the caption, "We're weird. We embrace it. #bachelorette party."
The day before the wedding, Johnson and her girlfriends enjoyed a day at the spa. She and West also got their marriage license.
Even fellow gymnast Nastia Liukin wished the happy couple well before their big day. "I can't wait to watch you become Mr. & Mrs. East today..." she wrote on Instagram. "HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!"
The newlyweds' wedding comes shortly after they celebrated another life-changing event: Andrew signing on with the Oakland Raiders! Earlier this month, the club announced the free agent football player, who had been previously signed to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks, had signed on with the California team.
