Russell Crowe Battles Jimmy Fallon in the Most Eccentric Round of "Box of Lies" Yet

The Oscar winner couldn't food the late-night host

It might be easy for an Oscar winner to get away with lying, but not to Jimmy Fallon

While the host competed against Academy Award winner Russell Crowe in a round of Box of Lies on The Tonight Show Thursday, it seemed like a sure victory for the actor. After all, his entire profession is based around his ability to control his facial expressions. However, when up against a veteran Box of Lies player like Fallon, it just isn't so.

The game is simple—the players sit across from each other with a barrier in between them. After selecting a boxed mystery item, each player then has to describe the item to the other player, who has to guess whether they're being lied to or not.

To make matters trickier, the objects aren't the ordinary items you'd find lying around your house—well, except for one.

After Crowe successfully fooled Fallon with a xylophone covered in Australian dog figurines, the host then pulled out something that "every mother has"—a junk drawer. Guess they don't have those in Australia, because the actor didn't believe him and was successfully duped.

With one point on both teams, the victory came down to one last item—a starfish with hands attached. While Crowe gave it his best effort to maintain his composure, he couldn't stop laughing and the host saw right through the fibs.

All hail the king of Box of Lies, Jimmy Fallon!
