Bitter, party of one! Californication star Madeline Zima ain't too happy about Lauren Conrad's rise to Emmy presenter.

"I know she's on television, but she's not an actor," Zima sneered about The Hills starlet at TV Guide's post-awards party at the Kress in Hollywood. "That's a little ridiculous, I think. I mean, nothing against her, but...I'm not so down with that."

Let's just hope they didn't run into each other inside the party, where Ms. Conrad was hanging with Hills buddy Lo Bosworth.

Who else was there? Well...

Lindsay Lohan was at the bash in order to—what else?—be at the side of her deejaying gal-pal Samantha Ronson. Lohan, however, avoided most of the red carpet press by rushing down the carpet so quickly she almost went unnoticed. But when we did get a glimpse of her, she looked fab in a gold Alexander Wang dress.

The Japanese-themed bash included sake bars, oversize bonsai trees, dancers in Japanese costumes and an endless supply of sushi.

Also at the soiree were Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon, Jamie Foxx, John Krasinski, Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh, Jon Voight, Jamie Kennedy, Simon Rex, Seth MacFarlane, Garcelle Beauvais and Joey Fatone.

Over in West Hollywood, HBO celebrated its big sweep—John Adams, anyone?—with a Spanish-themed party under a clear plastic tent at the Pacific Design Center. Large Picasso-esque paintings hung on the walls while a DJ and drummer entertained.

Emmy-winning John Adams producer Tom Hanks held court at his table with wife Rita Wilson, who chatted with Susan Sarandon and celebrity hairstylist Oscar Blandi.

Hayden Panettiere chatted with Time Warner president and CEO Jeffrey Bewkes, while Don Rickles took a seat to enjoy his Emmy win and the Wolfgang Puck-catered spread, which included paella and chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

Hunky waiters served Godiva's new European Dessert Truffles to sweet-toothed celebs like Hanks, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Adrian Grenier, über-agent Kevin Huvane and Felicity Huffman, who quipped, "My trainer will work these off tomorrow."

A few feet away, funnylady Jennifer Coolidge got a touchup from Laura Mercier makeup artists as Brothers & Sisters stars Dave Annable and Matthew Rhys hung out with a group of buddies.

Nope, said group did not include their rumored-to-be-on-the-outs costar Balthazar Getty.
