Emmy Trend: Partying With the Parents

Let's face it. When you're a celeb, you probably have your pick of the litter when it comes to nabbing a piece of arm candy for TV's biggest night. Which just makes it all the more admirable when our favorite stars opt out of bringing a here-today, gone-tomorrow date and go with someone who's been there from the very beginning.

This year, several famous faces, often the life of the party, chose as their escorts those who gave them life, including Rainn Wilson, who showed up with dear old dad; Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was accompanied by mom; and Sandra Oh, who was fortunate enough to be flanked by both her folks.

Surprisingly, the person who actually broke his own annual trend of bringing his mother was Jeremy Piven

"My mom clocked out," said the Entourage star, whose mother was a frequent red carpet fixture. "She's sitting at home with a glass of wine."

A glass she no doubt raised in salute to her son when he walked off with the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
