Since The People v. O.J. Simpson premiered just 10 short weeks ago on FX, reigniting the public's fierce fascination over the O.J. Simpson murder trial and the players involved along with it, we've been more than curious over who in the cast may have heard from their real-life counterpart.

Sarah Paulson and Marcia Clark have regaled us with stories of their meeting. (They drank tequila together and we seriously wish we'd been there!) David Schwimmer admittedly spent hours on the phone with Kris Jenner to better understand the late Robert Kardashian. But what about the rest? At a For Your Consideration event for the FX anthology series on Monday night, E! News' Kristin Dos Santos grilled the cast for updates—and some of their stories just may shock you.

Case in point: Nathan Lane's story about his phone call with F. Lee Bailey. While the series hasn't shied away from the clear rivalry that existed between Bailey and Robert Shapiro (John Travolta), Lane's humorous anecdote makes it clear that there is no love lost between those two legal titans. "He was lovely and charming and very gracious," he admitted, before adding with a life. "He just wanted to make sure that Bob Shapiro was not favorably portrayed!" Meow!

Others in the cast, however, continue to be shunned by their counterparts. Sterling K. Brown, whose empathetic portrayal of Christopher Darden has been breaking our hearts all season long, hasn't won the real-life lawyer over—much to our, and his, surprise. "His daughter's been really kind, she's given a lot of love. We've sort of tweeted back and forth," he revealed. "And I said to her one time, 'Maybe you can convince your dad to watch the show eventually?' She's like, 'I'm not holding my breath.' So, I'm not holding it either. If in the future, he does check it out, I hope he likes it."

To hear more from Lane and Brown, as well as Travolta, Connie Britton (Faye Resnick), and Courtney B. Vance (Johnnie Cochran), be sure to press play on the video above.
