Happy April Fools' Day 2016!

There are likely several awesome pranks in the making from celebrities. But will they top those of the past? Here are seven of the best.

1. Surprise, Students! On April Fools' Day 2015, The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder and then-girlfriend-now-wife Nikki Reed and The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus made surprise appearances at classrooms at various colleges across the United States as part of Chevrolet's #BestDayEver campaign to promote the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu.

Somerhalder, who plays Damon on The Vampire Diaries, and Reed, who portrayed vampire Rosalie in the Twilight movies, visited a marketing class at Emory University. Reedus visited students at St. John's University in New York.

Also in 2015, the day before April Fools' Day, Alec Baldwin showed up to a U.S. history class at Occidental College in Los Angeles as a surprise guest and took it a step further—he dressed as Abraham Lincoln. The actor gave a speech as the legendary former president before finally "revealing" himself.

2. Another Baby Jonas: Last year on April Fools' Day, Joe Jonas posted on his Twitter page an ultrasound photo of a baby, which shows up on the first page of a Google Images search.

"So happy to announce @HaileeSteinfeld and I are expecting our first," he wrote.

3. Drew Carey & Nigel Switch It Up: In 2014, in pre-announced prank, former Drew Carey Show stars Drew Carey and Craig Ferguson switched shows, both of which aired on April Fools' Day—Carey hosted the Late Late Show while Ferguson took over hosting duties for The Price Is Right.

4. Rihanna Jimmy Kimmels Jimmy Kimmel: The prank-loving Jimmy Kimmel Live! host got a taste of his own medicine in a show segment that showed RiRi giving him the wakeup call of his life in honor of April Fools' Day 2015.

5. Tom Brady Takes a Tumble: The New England Patriots quarterback drew mostly laughs on his Facebook page when he posted on April Fools' Day 2015 a photo showing him depicted in a full body cast, saying, "Jordan's crossover is no joke!" Brady had been vacationing with Michael Jordan in the Bahamas around that time.

6. ...and So Does Katie Couric: Katie Couric pulled an April Fools' prank on James Corden on The Late Late Show in 2015 when she had a stunt double present to fall down a set of stairs after the news veteran was introduced as a guest.

7. Harry Potter Love Affair: Also last year, Harry Potter's Tom Felton, aka Draco Malfoy, make some fan fiction readers and "Drarry" shippers' hearts skip a beat when he posted on his Instagram page a pic of himself and main star Daniel Radcliffe lying together, shirtless.

May as well just say it. We're together now x #drarry

When April Fools' pranks backfire...

On April Fools' Day 2015, singer Sam Smith, who is gay, stirred controversy when he tweeted, ""Guys I have some news... I'm straight."

Meanwhile, also in 2015, The Bachelor star Catherine Lowe, formerly Catherine Giudiceposted a photo that insinuated she was pregnant with her and Sean Lowe's first child as an April Fools' joke. While she is not the first celebrity to fake a pregnancy as an April Fools' joke, several people accused her of being insensitive towards women struggling with infertility. Sean later defended his wife.

The following December, he announced Catherine had actually gotten pregnant.
