Is there anything the girls at Nine Zero One can't do?

If you follow them on Instagram, you that know Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee rarely have a day off—between styling the tresses of A-list celebs and shooting features for their online beauty blog. What's more surprising is that the duo doesn't just style hair, they have a very hands-on approach to all aspects of any creative project they dive into.

On set of their latest Beauty Coach shoot with Emmanuelle Chriqui, we chatted with the actress about what it's like to work with Nikki and Riawna as well as what exactly goes into a successful shoot, Nine Zero One style.

The theme of this shoot was masculine-tomboy, a subject decided on by Emmanuelle, who acted as the model, Riawna, who acted as the photographer and Nikki, who acted as the art director. "Riawna and I were talking, and she was like, ‘What would you like to do?' I guess because I'm innately a tomboy, and I don't necessarily get to play those characters…this shoot is all about doing this cool masculine-yet-sexy vibe that I find unique and kind of iconic," the actress explained about the theme.

Once the theme is locked down, hair and wardrobe follow. "The stylist killed it. Riawna made a Pinterest, and I just said yes to everything. The stylist saw that and pulled the dopest stuff," shared Emmanuelle. The actress specifically loved the way that the oversized red pantsuit as well as the suspenders and pinstripe shirt look brought the vision to life.

For hair, Nine Zero One hairstylist Amber Maynard shared an easy masculine-inspired style that's ideal for everyday wear. Playing up the natural texture of Emmanuelle's hair, Amber twisted her curly locks into a low-slung pony. "A low ponytail with a little height and texture in the front can work just as easily on the red carpet or on a casual day with baggy cargo pants," shared the pro. Keeping in line with the androgynous theme, pulled-back hair, away from the face was a constant at this shoot.
