D'Angelo Russell Is as "Sick as Possible" Over Iggy Azalea and Nick Young's Cheating Scandal

The Grammy nominee's engagement to the Los Angeles Lakers player has been called into question since a video leaked of him claiming to have had an affair

Nick Young's engagement to Iggy Azalea has been called into question—and D'Angelo Russell is sick about it. 

A scandal has erupted among the trio since a video of Young discussing an encounter with a 19-year-old woman over the summer with Russell leaked online.

The 30-year-old Los Angeles Lakers basketball pro has been engaged to the Grammy nominee since June after dating for nearly two years. Hence, the clip—which appears to have been recorded without Young's knowledge—has fueled new questions regarding the validity of their romance. So far, the pair has already postponed their wedding until at least next year due to scheduling conflicts. 

Russell, 20, is all torn up. 

"[I'm as] sick as possible," he said during a pre-game conference Wednesday night. "I wish I could make things better right away, but I can't."

The player continued to tell reporters that the video was not a prank and he does not know how it got out into the public. 

"This just got in the wrong hands," he continued. "It wasn't a prank. It wasn't something for everybody else to see. It was for my eyes, his eyes only. That was it."

Russell has since reached out to Young to apologize, though he does now know if he accepted his sentiment. 

"He's one of the guys I've always talked to about anything and I cherished our friendship and for me to have an incident like this and put it in jeopardy was not what I was intending to do," he concluded. 

As for Young, he has kept his public remarks pretty terse regarding the entire ordeal.

"I don't want to get into my personal life right now I think its best me and D'Angelo handle the situation we have in a private matter outside the media because I think it's something we really do need to talk about. That's about it," he said during the conference. "What happened is what happened there. He needs to work on it."

While he kept his cool publicly, a source tells E! News Young is "furious" with Russell.

"That was his boy, his close friend and teammate," the source said. "He went behind his back and taped this. Nick could care less who leaked it at this point in the game. He is more pissed at the fact it was even recorded without his knowledge. He wants to win for the Lakers so he is not gonna let this get involved with his career."

While there is a lot to be ironed out, a source revealed that the behavior described in the video is not typical for Azalea's beau. 

"This has not been an ongoing problem between Iggy and Nick though, just a mistake," the source said. "Nick really loves Iggy."

As for the singer herself, she took to Twitter to make one lone remark. 

"hmmm i see D Angelo Russell is trending," she wrote. "I actually liked his film. Thanks bro."
