The Contenders:

  • "Before He Cheats," Josh Kear & Chris Tompkins (Carrie Underwood)
  • "Hey There Delilah," Tom Higgenson (Plain White T's)
  • "Like a Star," Corinne Bailey Rae (Corinne Bailey Rae)
  • "Rehab," Amy Winehouse (Amy Winehouse)
  • "Umbrella," Shawn Carter, Kuk Harrell, Terius "Dream" Nash & Christopher Stewart (Rihanna Featuring Jay-Z)

Our Prediction:  "Before He Cheats"

It's hard to think of a song that could top the inescapable "ella-ella-eh-eh-eh" of "Umbrella," but Underwood's "Before He Cheats" does. It's flat-out a great song with clever lyrics, a strong woman's point of view and a well-sharpened hook—not to mention a wronged woman—you can't forget. And Underwood delivers it with a passion that proves no Idol winner is better or more deserving.

Your Prediction?  What do you think? Should everyone else be standing under an "Umbrella"? Is "Deliliah" the real star? Sound off in Comments!
