4:10 p.m.:  There are so many stars on this Red Carpet, and there is so much plastic covering above it (the better to protect the gowns and black ties from the elements). I imagine hothouses don't get much steamier.

4:11 p.m.:  Truly, I've never felt leafier.

4:12 p.m.:  Below and to my left, 30 Rock's Tina Fey—I don't think I've seen her without a picket sign in almost three months.

4:15 p.m.:  Below and to my right, The Office's John Krasinski—I don't think I've seen him in nonrerun form in almost three months.

5:24 p.m.:  I've covered several events at the Shrine before, but I've never covered events from actually inside the Shrine before, and let me tell you, from new firsthand experience, the venue isn't old. It's very old.

5:26 p.m.:  The power has just blown out in the pressroom.

5:27 p.m.:   Remember I mentioned the Shrine was very old? I meant very, very old.

5:31 p.m.:  The downside of the power outage is I have no idea what's happening on the telecast, the upside is I have more time to listen to Mary Pickford's ghost. She's a riot.
