The actors are running the show. Pray that someone will be brave enough to play them off when they talk too long...

Best Introduction:  Screw the musical numbers, the monologues, the clip shows. The SAGs opened the show where actors give trophies to actors for their acting with actors talking about themselves acting. This brilliant, or totally self-involved, conceit worked, though, with each actor ending with the line "I am an actor."

Here's some favorites from the opening:

Doug Savant:  "In 1982, I dropped out of college to follow my dream of being a prolonged pain in my parents' ass...Mom, Dad, I am an actor."

Rebecca Romijn:  "I used to walk down runways in my underpants. Then my entire body was painted blue for three movies. Now, I play a transgender on a TV show...I'm a model turned actor."

Jane Krakowski:  "My favorite thing about acting is that it truly allows you to transform yourself into another person. I'm Johnny Depp, and I'm an actor."

Most Too Sexy:  Javier Bardem managed to look hot, discuss his grandparents who were actors, congratulate the assembled thespians and give all the credit for his performance to the Coen brothers, who chose the good takes "instead of the ones where I really sucked."

Best Random Shot:  Steve Carell sitting with his plate of food clapping for Tina Fey with a sweet, almost confused-looking smile on his face.

Best Thing Ever:  Fey and an absent Alec Baldwin both taking home awards for their lead roles on 30 Rock. Will this mean more people will watch it?
