Oscar Noms: There Will Be Snubs

Shhh! Do you hear that? That's the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences dropping its nominations for this year's Oscars. (Get the complete list here.) Sounds really familiar, right?

Those two brutal westerns that you haven't seen yet (No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood) snagged eight noms each, with Atonement and Michael Clayton close behind. Beyond that, Cate Blanchett, Viggo Mortensen, Ellen Page, George Clooney and Johnny Depp all had another pretty good morning.

A couple of nice surprises in there, though: 83-year-old Ruby Dee (for American Gangster), Hal Holbrook (for Into the Wild), Casey Affleck (for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) and Tommy Lee Jones (for In the Valley of Elah).

But enough about the potential winners. Who got Academy's shaft today?
