Reports surfaced online this week claiming that the former One Direction member was kicking Perrie Edwards' mom out from the home he purchased for her. In fact, the publication claimed that the "Pillow Talk" singer issued an ultimatum—get out or he will head to court.
As it turns out, the allegations couldn't be farther from the truth.
"She is still living in the house," Zayn's rep said in a statement to E! News. "Zayn has very generously allowed her to live there for the past couple of years, but she is buying a house with her boyfriend so will be moving out once it completes."
The initial report was immediately met with skepticism from some fans who have heard Zayn's kind remarks about his ex-girlfriend.
After the relationship and engagement ended, Zayn spoke out to Fader where he had nothing but positive words for his ex. He also wanted to clarify that he never broke up with the Little Mix member by text message.
"I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message," he explained to the publication. "I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that. She knows that, I know that, and the public should know that as well."
As for today, Zayn is happily in a relationship with supermodel Gigi Hadid. He's also focused on his solo career that includes his just-released debut album Mind of Mine that peaked at No. 1 on iTunes in 83 countries.
"I feel good! I feel like that's the key thing in life, you know regardless of whatever it is that you do," he told iHeartRadio host Elvis Duran of his journey from 1D to solo artist. "You have to always remain true to yourself and do whatever makes you happy because at the end of the day, you answer to yourself so it's a good place to be in. I'm happy about the decision I made."
He continued, "I've been working on it for a long time now so even starting everything is really exciting."
