Dancing  With the Stars' viewers message to Geraldo Rivera on Monday night: You're fired.

The 72-year-old Fox News host had the unfortunate distinction of being the first celebrity eliminated during season 22...and he was eliminated while dressed as presidential nominee Donald Trump, wig and all. (His pro partner Edyta Sliwinska was dressed as Trump's wife, Melania.) His stance? To make dance great again, which unfortunately didn't happen, as he landed just 13 points from the judges.

During the package before his performance, Geraldo said he was friends with the politician, who fired the TV personality when he was on Celebrity Apprentice, and thought he would "get a kick" out of the routine.

So did Geraldo hear from Trump after his performance? "I haven't had a chance to check the messages on my phone yet," he told E! News' Sibley Scoles after his elimination, but said he had a more important message he wanted to get across. "The real signal I'm sending out is to the people who are the baby boomer generation...everybody's got something that hurts. Get off the couch, get moving, because if you don't use it, you're going to lose it. There's plenty of time to be still when you're dead."

But what did Geraldo's competitor Marla Maples, Trump's ex-wife, think of his get-up? "I just love Geraldo," she told us, "And I kept going, 'Donald, I mean Geraldo!'" Still, she thought it would've been "hilarious" is Geraldo ditched his signature 'stache, but admitted, "There was no way he's giving up the moustache!"

Now that his run on DWTS is over, Geraldo told us he's back to "election coverage" for Fox News, saying, "I think Donald Trump is the nominee, I think Hillary Clinton is the nominee," he said. "There's a real choice for the American people, a real, real choice."

To hear more from Geraldo about his exit, watch our interview with him above.

DWTS airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
