Getting red carpet ready is not a last-minute activity.
Just ask E! News correspondent Carissa Culiner, who is reporting live from the E! red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. For the lowdown on what exactly it takes to get prepped for a big red carpet moment, we caught up with Carissa at home a few days before the show.
First order of business? "Prior to an awards show I always drink a lot of water so that my skin is hydrated, and ready for makeup application day of, " revealed Carissa.
When we arrived at her home, Carissa was painting her nails a cool slate gray. With a versatility that rivals even the little black dress, the elegant gray complements any look: from the red carpet, to the ceremony, to the after party. We noticed Carissa's GE Slate fridge when we visited her kitchen: a stone-inspired, premium finish that blended perfectly with her modern kitchen and style. "I love a neutral gray color, it's a go-to shade for me," Carissa said of the adaptable hue.

"Dinner with my beautiful ACM Awards #eredcarpet cohost Kimberly Perry. Tomorrow is going to be so much fun," said Carissa on her first night in Las Vegas.
Carissa posed for a quick photo en route to the ACM Awards. "On our way to the red carpet," she shared.
It's interview time! "Love my @catherine_deane dress. Pretty in pink. Hair and makeup by @oneluvwhit," revealed the host.
Katy Perry just arrived! "Us trying to get her to come talk to us...she didn't. But we sure tried."
All in a day's work. "Wow. Bucket list moment, getting to interview Dolly Parton," revealed Carissa.
"I had so much fun co-hosting with this beauty! She's such a down-to-earth sweetheart and a really good interviewer," she said of Kimberly Perry.
"On my way backstage for more interviews!"
"@Charleskelley just laughed at me and told me that my new nickname is cheese pretzel #girlsgottaeat #ACMs #backstage" said Carissa who was caught off guard on a quick break.
"New ACM Entertainer of the Year, Jason Aldean telling me how he's going to cut loose tonight!"
