You're Going to Love Supergirl and The Flash's Crossover

Find out what to expect when Barry Allen travels to National City

On Monday's Supergirl, your two favorite nerdy superheroes will unite to fight some super bad girls (namely Silver Banshee and Livewire) when the evil duo kidnap Kara Danvers' powerful boss, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). Kara, a.k.a. Kara Zor El a.k.a. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), recruits the new superhero in town, Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash (Grant Gustin), to help her defeat them. Barry stumbles into National City quite literally when he accidentally runs so fast he creates a breech and winds up on another Earth.

It's a delightful pairing of two superheroes who work together, unlike some movie that's in theaters this weekend, anyone hear about that one? To get you excited for the big event, here are five things you can expect from the hour—including how Beyoncé fits into the whole thing.

1. It's FUN. The Flash and Supergirl are both breezy, funny shows at heart, so they were kinda perfect to merge together. Also, TBH, Kara even beats Barry on the nerdiness scale, and since the Flash has a few years of superhero-ing under his belt, he looks pretty suave and confident, too.

2. It's also very bright. National City is so sunny! It's a good thing Barry Allen's the one who headed to an alternate universe for this crossover because it's unclear whether Oliver Queen's eyes could even adjust to so much light at one time.

3. There aren't any doppelgangers around. S.T.A.R. Labs doesn't exist on Kara's Earth, so Barry have to figure out how to get home all on his own. While Earth-2 showed us the very different lives our favorite scientists were leading, this Earth of undetermined number forces Barry to rely only on his new friend Supergirl to figure out a way home.

4. OK, some of the same people exist. Namely the celebs name-checked throughout the episode, which include, but are not limited to Ramona Singer (#turtletime), Mariah Carey and Beyoncé. Good to know that true divas exist on all Earths. (Another thing that exists in National City? The CW. Probably too meta to have on Earth-1, though.)

5. Supergirl's metahuman villains are WAY better at wardrobe than The Flash's. Dude, have you seen photos of Silver Banshee? That's scary stuff! The Flash's metahumans mostly look like regular people. They need to step up their supervillain costume game! (You know who would be happiest about that? Cisco Ramon.)
