Someone may have had a craving for cotton candy.

Cate Blanchett debuted a new look this week; The 46-year-old British Oscar-winning actress had her blond hair dyed bright pink! She sported her new hairstyle, which she paired with matching tinted aviator glasses, while out and about in London.

"We've been talking about doing it for a while but wanted to get all the award seasons out of the way to have a play and a bit of fun," he colorist, Nicola Clarke, told the U.K. newspaper The Telegraph in comments posted Thursday.

The dye is semi-permanent.

"It will last a couple of weeks, depending on how many washes it has," Clarke said.

Blanchett joins a growing list of actresses who have sported pink hair, which includes the likes of Kaley Cuoco, 30, Katy Perry, 31, Rihanna, 28, and Helen Mirren, 70, who debuted her cotton candy-toned pixie cut in 2013,

Blanchett had debuted a short bob just before the 2016 Oscars, where she walked the red carpet in a teal, romantic, flower-adorned V-neck Armani gown.

The actress was nominated for her leading role in Carol and lost to Brie Larson for Room. This marked the sixth Oscar nomination for Blanchett, who had previously won Academy Awards for her performances in the films The Aviator and Blue Jasmine.

Blanchett has changed her hair often, although usually for movie roles. Sometimes she went to the extreme. To play Queen Elizabeth I in the 1998 movie Elizabeth, she shaved her hairline.

"And the front portion was bleached white," the actress told Allure. "I had these really short tufts that used to stick out, so I had to pin them back. It wasn't a good look."

For her role in the 2002 movie Heaven, Blanchett shaved her head—and onscreen.

"Bruce Willis was being honored for something that night—it was around the time they made G.I. Jane, Blanchett told Allure. "I didn't want people to think I was spoofing on Demi Moore, so right before I ran out my hairstylist gave me a wig. I look like Elizabeth Taylor in her later years."
