Phamous/AKM-GSIGwen Stefani took to Facebook today to chat with fans and answer some of their burning questions.
Aside from her album release, of course people couldn't help but ask about her relationship with beau Blake Shelton.
When two incredibly talented artists start dating, it's inevitable that everyone begins wondering whether they plan to release a collaboration of sorts. Though we've heard rumors that The Voice coaches have already worked on a song together, one fan wanted to know if there would ever be a duet album in the future.
Gwen didn't give the fan any indication that something like that might happen in the future, but she also didn't chop down the idea all together.
"In my dreams...." she responded, coyly.
Staying on the topic of love, Stefani also opened up about the dueling emotions she experienced while writing the album and getting into the studio for the first time. Not only was she feeling heartache following her divorce from Gavin Rossdale, but she was also feeling happiness over a new chapter in her life and a new connection with Shelton.
"There's definitely been a lot of crying. Happy and sad," she explained of creating the new album. "Hopeful disbelief, but none of it got in the way of making the music come alive."
As for any challenges she faced, Stefani says it was probably recording again for the first time.
"There wasn't a challenging song; it was just overall a challenging time and the hardest thing to do was probably going to the studio for the first time," she explained, adding, "I think it's easier to write songs about pain than it is to write about happiness."
However, she also noted that it feels like a "facelift" to write about "hope, love, happiness" after going through heartbreak and divorce.
As well as taking fans into the emotional roller coaster that went into making her album, she also gave fans a glimpse at the making of the cover for her album.
In a behind-the-scenes video, Stefani explains she didn't go into this album or the shoot with a theme in mind. She based everything off her real life, raw emotions.
"I really don't want a theme. I really just want it to be emotional," she said. "I want it to feel like a light switched turned on. I want it to feel positive and reflective and emotional...Almost like a look at the calendar of what went down for me over the last year."
