Gwen Stefani has no doubt—this is one thing she's never done.

"I've never sexted before," the multi-Grammy winner told TIME. "What's sexting?"

While the 46-year-old songstress certainly grew up in a time when cell phones didn't exist,  she knows some won't believe that she's never tried her hand at the modern seduction, especially after going steady with beau Blake Shelton since November.

"You can think whatever you want," she added. "That's what's so cool about all these songs, now matter how personal I get or whatever I intend the song to be."

The revelation is just one of the many truths fans expect to hear from the singer, who just released her third studio album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like—her first album in ten years.

In addition to the emergence of sexting, so much has changed since the last time Stefani's face was on an album cover. To start, she was married to Gavin Rossdale back when she was singing about "The Great Escape" in 2006. Now, seven months after she filed for divorce from the English rocker, the blond beauty is busy singing about the feelings she has for her new man.

"It was the first time that I really had written a record from a different point of view of being in love and being grateful and being in a really, ‘Oh my God, I got saved!' kind of place," she said about the project. Yup, she used the L-word (!).

Instead of retreating into personal isolation upon her split from Rossdale, the mom of three did the opposite. She worked as a judge on The Voice, concentrated on her upcoming music and strutted the Oscar after-parties alongside Shelton.

"I don't feel like I have anything to be ashamed of," she told TIME. "I've done nothing wrong."
