And now she says she'd really like to direct!
"I would love," Latifah told me last night at the premiere of her new drama Miracles From Heaven. "I respect directors just like I respect Broadway every time people ask me about that. It has to be something that I'm so in love with, that I'm willing to sacrifice that much of my life and get real good at it real quick so I can do it again and again and again and again."
A few days before the premiere, the SAG Award winner also told me she wants to be a mom.
"I'm little bit of a procrastinator," said Latifah, 45. "I had some things to deal with. I had to get a lot of partying out of my system early in life for about 40 years. You know what I'm saying. I'm good now. I think I'm ready."
