"Hello, I'm here about the receptionist job."
Those are the first words out of Chris Hemsworth's mouth in the new international Ghostbusters trailer and they're enough to make us, Kristen Wiig's character and Kate McKinnon's character swoon. "You're hired!" Wiig immediately retorts without so much as an interview (that we see at least).
The new preview gives fans a closer look at the increased paranormal activity around New York City, which is a result of a device someone has built. Although it starts out as Wiig, McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Melissa McCarthy taking down the ghosts, it appears that Hemsworth starts to become very interested in the group's line of work.
"We need to build something to fight these dead ghosts," Hemsworth says in his swoony Australian accent. Obviously, it was only a matter of time before he swaps his suit and tie for a Ghostbusters uniform.
Jones also gets some major screen time—and the chance to comment on society—when the gang heads to some sort of mosh pit to fight off more ghosts. When Jones tries to crowd surf after McCarthy successfully does so, everyone turns their backs and she falls right onto the floor.
"OK I don't know if it's a race thing or a lady thing, but I'm mad as hell," she says while still lying on the floor.
When the first trailer debuted, many turned to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction that Jones was the only character who didn't have a scientific background; she plays an employee of the MTA. She, in turn, took to the social media platform to defend herself and the role she plays.
"I'm playing a hardworking woman. The regular one that rep the people," she wrote. "You guys are the racists by labeling her a lowly MTA worker. Not me."
But enough eventually became enough, and Jones threatened to quit Twitter, which caused director Paul Feig to get involved. "Don't leave us, @Lesdoggg. You are a goddess & one of the warmest funniest forces of nature I know," he tweeted. "F--k the haters."
He didn't stop there, though. Feig continued defending his upcoming movie and the women involved. "And haters, attack me all you want but when you attack and insult my cast, you've crossed the line," he continued.
"Grow up and leave my cast alone."
