Pie

Marie Callender’s

Today is Monday, March 14 and we bet you did not know it was a holiday. It's Pi Day to be exact, the holiday dedicated to the math we all forgot about in grade school. Kidding. Who could forget that super long number they drilled us with year after year until we memorized as many digits as we possibly could? How many can you recite after the famous 3.14? If you didn't already notice, the holiday falls on this day because it is the 14th day of the 3rd month. Get it? 3.14? Ah, pi jokes.

In the event you're into both math and sweets, the pie people over at Marie Callender's want you to know how to cut the perfect slice of pie using pi. The equation is as follows: (Pi) x (Diameter of the Pie) / (Number of Desired Slices) = Crust width per slice. Seems simple enough, right? JK, we don't even know how to long divide. Clearly we're just here for the food.

Instead of reliving the nightmares of middle school math, Marie Callender's also wants you to celebrate the holiday with actual, edible, delicious pie. The folks over at MC have crafted a ton of recipes to create crazy dessert mashups made from your favorite pies. Coconut cream pie cronut, anyone? Get outta town. We bring you a loving listicle of "pie-jacks" as the brand referred to them, that you can create on your own in honor of Pi day. Sounds a hell of a lot better than screaming internally through a day of math class.

1. Whoopie Pies. A childhood classic gone wild. Chocolate satin pie, cake, chocolate candies, nuts and whipped cream make up this mad mashup.

2. Cannoli. This is one bold take on a very traditional treat. The recipe calls for key lime pie, a fruity rice cereal as a cannoli shell, marshmallows and butter. That cereal cannoli shell is killing us right now.

3. Churro. This may look nothing like your traditional churro, but that's not stopping us from wanting a bite. The treat still maintains its cinnamon-sugar vibe but combines chocolate satin pie and puff pastry to send them over the edge.

4. Cronut. This magic is made by hacking a coconut cream pie, crescent rolls, frosting and sprinkles. We'll take ten, please.

Which "pie-jack" mashup looks like something you'd want to try? Tell us in the comments!
