If a Gilmore Girls star is out on the road, taking selfies and having a great meal with Melissa McCarthy, don't expect it to mean she's joining the revival.

Yanic Truesdale, Michel on Gilmore Girls, posted a selfie with the Ghostbusters star over the weekend, but was quick to point out it does not mean what you think it does. "Scotch, great meal and catching up with my old friend @melissamccarthy, can't ask for more! Don't read anything into it guys," he said on Instagram.

"Don't read anything into it guys." Have six words ever hurt you so much? But it's true, nothing has changed. Alas.

McCarthy spent seven seasons as Sookie, Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) BFF on the beloved WB show, but don't expect her to pop up in the new four-part Netflix revival.

After creator Amy Sherman-Palladino told TVLine the Oscar-nominated actress was too busy to return to Stars Hollow, McCarthy took to Twitter.

"Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow," she said on Twitter. "Wish them all the best!!"

"She's really f--king busy," Sherman-Palladino told TVLine shortly after the revival news broke. "But the thing I have said [to her team] is, 'Look, if Melissa is available and has an afternoon free, I'll write her a scene. Melissa was one of us. If she has a spare moment to run over [to the set] — even if for just a cameo — we would be totally game. And if it's a last-minute thing, I would write her in and we would figure it out. That's the way we left it."

McCarthy is one of the few Gilmore Girls veterans not expected to make an appearance. In addition to Truesdale and Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Matt Czuchry, Keiko Agena, Milo Ventimiglia and Jared Padalecki are all appearing in the revival. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Find out who else is back.

No premiere date for Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival was announced.
