Angela Bassett is the Star Trek captain of Bryan Fuller's dreams, and unfortunately it looks like it's going to have to stay that way: in his dreams.

In an interview with Den of Geek in 2013, Fuller revealed the American Horror Story star was his big wish. "I want Angela Bassett to be the captain, that's who I would love to have, you know Captain Angela Bassett and First Officer Rosario Dawson," he said. "I would love to do that version of the show and but that's in the future to be told."

Can you imagine? What a show that would be. E! News caught up with Bassett at the Underground premiere, and now that Fuller is making a new Star Trek series we had to ask: Could it happen?

"That's thrilling, that's very nice, but how am I going to do that and American Horror? How is that going to work? … Oh my gosh, " she said, "and raise twins?"

Bassett was on hand for the premiere of the new WGN America series about the Underground Railroad and praised the series and its potential impact. "Listen, when I came through in high school, I would have to go to the library to find out anything about my people and my history. We mustn't forget and we must be proud of who we are," she said.

Underground premieres Wednesday, March 9 at 10 on WGN America.
