Can Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen really turn down Uncle Jesse's pleas? John Stamos stopped by Today to discuss Fuller House and the recently announced second season and of course the topic turned to the Olsen twins and their notable absence from the first season Tanner family reunion nostalgia fest.

So will they pop up in season two of the Netflix sequel series to Full House?

"They're totally welcome. I was going to see Ashley last night and beg her to be on the show," Stamos told Matt Lauer. "We would love to have them. I know everybody would love to see them. I have a good feeling about it."

However, a source told E! News nothing has changed for Mary-Kate and Ashley regarding their decision to appear on the series. The show explained Michelle Tanner's absence by saying she lived in New York City and was working on her fashion line, which is exactly what the twins do in real life.

Series creator Jeff Franklin told E! News he was hopeful something would be worked out. "I am still hopeful that Mary-Kate or Ashley or both of them will come back and be a part of it, even if it's just for an hour. We miss that. Everybody does feel that hole in the family," Franklin said before the first season premiered. "But it's like, all family reunions, there's always somebody that doesn't show up. But hopefully next time around, we'll have them back."

The twins have not acted in some time. Mary-Kate's last role was the 2011 flick Beastly and Ashley's was in 2009 in The Jerk Theory. Prior to that, Ashley hadn't appeared in a TV show or movie since 2004's New York Minute alongside sister Mary-Kate.

No premiere date for Fuller House season two was announced.
