Supergirls met on the Monday, Feb. 29 episode of CBS's Supergirl, but viewers may not have recognized Smallville's Laura Vandervoort. For her role on the CBS superhero drama, Vandervoort spent three to four hours in the makeup chair to get made up as DC Comics character Indigo. A far cry from her previous Super role.
"For the full hair and make up look for indigo it takes 3 to 4 hours, but I think we have gotten it down to about three now," she told E! News in a statement. "There is a prosthetic on my four head with three LED lights, a bald cap, the blue makeup, and wig."
Viewers will of course recall Vandervoort took on the role of Supergirl/Kara on long-running WB/CW series Smallville, which starred Tom Welling as Clark Kent.

In "Solitude" Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) traveled to Superman's Fortress of Solitude to learn how to defeat Indigo. Indigo's powers included being able to travel through the Internet, amongst other things.
Supergirl airs Mondays, 8 p.m. on CBS.
