The 83-year-old artist and widow of The Beatles legend John Lennon arrived at a hospital in New York Friday after reporting flu-like symptoms, her rep told E! News, adding she was diagnosed with the flu and dehydration and was admitted overnight.
"She is alert and talking," the rep said, adding she is expected to be released Saturday.
CBS New York had said police sources initially told the outlet Yoko had suffered a possible stroke.
Her and John's son, Sean Lennon, posted on his Twitter page Friday evening, "Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern @yokoono."
"Only stroke @yokoono had was a Stroke of Genius! :-) She's really fine," he added. "Thanks for all the well wishes! Big Love, Sean."
His tweets were retweeted on Ono's Twitter page.
Sean later added, "Thanks again for everyone's concern. She's home and running about as usual. Just the flu in the end. I may go get a flu shot now..."
The artist had just last week attended the 2016 NME Awards in London and appeared to be in good spirits.
John was shot to death at age 40 in 1980 outside his and Ono's New York City apartment building, where she still resides. She was taken to the same hospital where her husband died.
The two married in 1969 and Sean, who is now 40, is their only child together. John is also survived by 53-year-old son Julian Lennon, from a previous marriage.
