Daisy Ridley may be the star of the biggest movie all time—Star Wars: The Force Awakens!—but she's still quite nervous about presenting at the Oscars.
She'll will make her debut at the big show on Sunday.
"I looked at a few dresses, I picked my favorite and that's the one I'm wearing," Ridley, 23, told me last night at the US-Ireland Alliance's Oscar Wilde Awards.
She even has her jewels picked out already. "It's a gorgeous dress and gorgeous jewelry and I'll have people making me up, making me look better," she said.
Even so, Ridley isn't exactly calm about the whole thing. She said she'll sandpaper the bottom of her shoes before hitting the carpet. "I don't want to ice skate down the red carpet. Imagine how awful that would be?" she said. "I'm thinking about all the worst possibilities that could happen—like, I could trip or say something wrong or trip as I'm walking up to the stage. Hopefully, it will all be fine."
She already knows the first thing she'll be doing Sunday morning before the craziness begins to kick in. "I'll probably go for a swim because I like to do that when I'm here. England is cold and you can't swim outside," Ridley said. "Here it's nice to start the day like that."
She arrived in L.A. on Monday, but flies back to the U.K. the morning after the Oscars to continue shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII.
"It's a weird little break," Ridley smiled, "but it's very exciting."
See you at the Oscars, Daisy!
