TodayFans were blinded by the surprise news that Jaimie Alexander broke off her engagement to Peter Facinelli. A week after the story of their split spread, the Blindspot actress has officially stepped back out into the spotlight.
While promoting the upcoming midseason premiere of the NBC hit in the Big Apple—the site of Facinelli's Empire State Building proposal—the 31-year-old star joined the co-hosts of Today to dish on all that's in store for the unique show.
The actress hadn't been spotted publicly since her stunning appearance on the Golden Globe red carpet alongside her former beau.
One topic that seemed off limits during the televised interview was her personal life. Less than a year after she confirmed her engagement to the fellow actor in March 2015, the pair called the whole thing off on Friday, blaming opposite coasts for mounting conflict.
"Due to conflicting family and work commitments on opposite coasts, and after much consideration, Peter and Jaimie have chosen to part ways amicable and remain good friends," the actress' rep told E! News in a statement.
It's possible history had repeated itself. Facinelli's ex-wife Jennie Garth, whom he shares three daughters with, blamed distance as the root cause of their suffering marriage and subsequent divorce in 2012.
"He would do everything he could to fly back every weekend," she admitted. "[But] it took a real toll on our marriage."
In addition to the difficult news, Alexander was also on the mend from the flu.
"Anyone have any good home remedies for the flu?" the star begged on Twitter.
If she's anything like the badass character she plays on television, we're sure Alexander can handle all the hurdles that get thrown her way.
