After Lorde took the stage at the 2016 Brit Awards Wednesday to pay tribute to the late David Bowie, the Internet clamored with reaction to her emotionally charged rendition of his hit, "Life on Mars?"
However, no social media remark shined brighter than that of Duncan Jones, Bowie's only son. The 44-year-old took to Twitter Wednesday evening to comment on the show, including Lorde's celebration of his beloved father, who passed away in early January after battling cancer.
"Finally found the links to tonight's Brits. Just...beautiful. Thank you," he tweeted. The comment did not go unseen.
The anxious singer retweeted the post on her own Twitter account after describing how she quelled her jitters moments before taking the stage.
"I was so nervous in the wings, and then i whispered to myself 'just sing it to david', and nothing else mattered," she revealed on social media.
While Jones appeared to be a fan of the teenager's performance, he seemed less than thrilled about Lady Gaga's earlier and highly praised salute to the late singer at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
After the theatrical Oscar nominee performed a medley of his greatest hits while dressed in Bowie-inspired garb, Jones once again signed on to Twitter to comment.
"Overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused." Damn it! What IS that word!?" he wrote using the official definition for the term "gaga."
Hmmm, that just doesn't sound quite as complimentary.
