It's been a little over a month since the passing of Alan Rickman, and it's still hard to believe the late actor is gone.

The British thespian died in January after a battle with cancer. Today would have been his 70th birthday.

A star who was able to span so many genres, fans associate Rickman with all sort of projects.

For many, their essential Rickman role was him bringing Professor Severus Snape to life from the pages of the Harry Potter series.

Others think of him primarily for his dramatic turns in period pieces or his larger-than-life villains.

To celebrate his life and work, let's look at the memorable Rickman performances to binge-watch today, in honor of the late actor's birthday.

There's no voice we'd rather have streaming through our Netflix queue than the man who gave us so many iconic movie moments.

Columbia Pictures

In Sense and Sensibility (1995), we see a romantic Rickman as he takes on Colonel Brandon in the beautiful big screen adaptation of the Jane Austen classic. Watching him read aloud to Kate Winslet's Marianne still gives us butterflies.

You can find the period drama on Amazon and YouTube.

Rickman is a deliciously perfect villain in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which you can stream on Amazon or YouTube.

As the evil sheriff of Nottingham he even threatens to cancel Christmas! Now, that's a true villain.

Another iconic baddie made famous by Rickman?

German terrorist Hans Gruber is the mastermind behind a Christmas Eve heist in an L.A. skyscraper in the classic action movie Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis.

Watch it again on YouTube and try not to say "Mr. McClane" in that iconic Rickman voice. We dare you.

Paramount Pictures

A hilarious sci-fi comedy, you can find Galaxy Quest on Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube.

Rickman plays Alexander Dane (a.k.a. Dr. Lazarus), a dramatic Shakespearean actor who gained fame for a Spock-type role in a Star Trek-esque show, who along with his former costars gets picked up by some real aliens who need help.

It's one of those films where Rickman is still delivering a dynamic, impressive performance, even when it's totally goofy.

This is definitely an underrated cult classic.

Universal Studios

Love Actually (streaming on Amazon and YouTube) isn't just a holiday movie.

The romantic comedy is magical, no matter what time of year you watch.

As a married man who strays from his committed wife (played by the wonderful Emma Thompson), Rickman still makes a flawed character feel sympathetic and understood.

Sure, you sit there wondering "how could you?!" as he gives a necklace to his secretary instead of the mother of his children, but the late actor still makes his character human. You want to see the couple make it all work out.

You knew these would make the list.

Revisiting the Harry Potter series (available on Amazon), and Rickman's legendary role as Snape, is an emotional homage, yet a great way to revisit some of the star's most widespread work.

Fans from around the world, of all ages, shared moving tributes after the actor's passing, and looked back on their favorite moments from the series.

Rickman brought a nuanced character to life in a way no other actor could. Today it's "wands up" for Rickman and his fans.

Let's celebrate and recognize a lifetime of amazing work.
