What was once a collection made for the party girl is now a line for the party girl with badass hair.

For Hervé Léger fall 2016, designer Lubov Azria evolved the bandage dresses of yore into an edgier, punker-chic collection. Of course, when the clothes change direction, so need the tresses flow.

This season, head hairstylist Orlando Pita, on behalf of TRESemmé, created a look to help channel your inner tomboy. We went backstage at NYFW to show you how it's done.

Step 1: Apply a small amount of TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam to the roots.

Step 2: Rough-dry the hair to enhance its natural texture.

Step 3: Create an uneven deep side part and begin French braiding and twisting the plait from the forehead to the nape of the neck. Then secure twisted plait with a small elastic and bobby pins.

Step 4: Run a straightener over the top of the hair at the part line and shake hair over the shoulders to cover up the end of the braid.

Step 5: Hairspray to hold the hair.
