Lex McAllister "was a lovely person" and "will be missed by the entire Bachelor" family," ABC and those affiliated with the dating show say, a day after the former contestant died after an apparent suicide attempt.

The 31-year-old, who competed on The Bachelor's 14th season in 2010, died Tuesday. Police had said they responded to a 911 call and arrived at a home to find McAllister in stable condition after taking "a lot" of pills. She was taken to a hospital, where her health deteriorated. Her family took her off life support Tuesday.

"In the short time that we knew Lex, she was a lovely person inside and out," The Bachelor producers and crew said a statement ABC provided to E! News Wednesday. "She will be missed by the entire Bachelor family, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends."

Several people who appeared on The Bachelor the season McAllister was on, including main star Jake Pavelka, also expressed their condolences.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place later in the day , the local coroner's office told E! News.

McAllister's fellow The Bachelor season 14 competitor, third runner-up Gia Allemand, died in 2013 after taking her own life. She was 29.
